Kuru niho mako are a collection of kurupounamu/ earrings derived from the niho/tooth of the mako/ shark.

These taonga represent strength, determination and never giving in, as stated in the whakatauki, kaua e mate wheke, me mate ururoa.

The white pounamu along the top of niho are cut from a unique piece of stone.
